If you’re familiar with sports in our area, you’ve likely seen this man in his element. Whether he’s teaching or officiating, he puts in his all, always demonstrating great passion and fairness. His love for the game keeps him active, whether on a baseball diamond, a softball field, a football field or a basketball court. Recently, after facing some serious medical challenges and relying on his savings for income, he finally achieved his dream job with the Marysville Drakes. He dedicated himself fully to this role to help maintain a higher level of baseball in our community, even turning down other job opportunities to focus on this passion. Unfortunately, what began as his dream job quickly turned into a nightmare. After starting the position, he had to depend on his dwindling savings until he received his paycheck, but that never came. He never anticipated that the owner would skip town with the team, leaving him without payment of his salary. Now, he finds himself with depleted savings and is facing the tough situation of having to move from his apartment. He’s understandably devastated. I know he wouldn’t ask for help himself, so I’m reaching out to the community on his behalf. Any assistance to help Jerry get back on his feet and return to the game he loves would be immensely appreciated.
