Rally together for Karin Johnson
Our dear friend Karin Johnson has a long road ahead of her. She suffered some pretty major injuries this weekend when she was tending to her horse's hoof and was kicked in the face. Karin was Lifeflighted to Harborview, underwent the first of what will be a series of surgeries and is expected to be there for several weeks. She's currently in the ICU. This gal here has done so many things for people and animals and will need our support. Karin works harder than any one I know keeping the entire town of Potlatch landscaped, maintained, and beautiful. She shovels and plows snow all winter and never quits. Karin is single and will need our help as she doesn’t have someone to help pay bills. It’s ALL HER. People have already stepped up to take care of Norman (her horse) and dogs and cats. This is just the beginning. The monthly bills will not go away and the medical expenses are expected to be hefty. We are all praying for her. If you have not met her, she’s a super fun person - lots of laughs and boy can she sing. She saves birds, bunnies, and even insects. She’s the best horseperson I have ever met. She’s amazing. We’re ALL with you Karin. - Dena
Karin's life has been an example of love and sacrifice for her friends, family, and community. She has willingly and consistently set aside her own wishes and plans to tend to the needs of others, and now it's time to come through for her. If you've met Karin, you know that she's a hard working, independent, fun, generous, genuinely good soul. She takes pride in her work for the City of Potlatch Parks Department and it makes her so happy to see her neighbors enjoying the fruits of her labors and creativity. If you've seen her out working, you know how dedicated she is in her desire to add value to the community. If you've walked through Swenson Park in Potlatch, you've seen an example of her love for community in action. If you've seen her out riding her horse or helping others with theirs, you know the joy she gets from working with animals. If you've had the benefit of her friendship, you know what a gift you have. Let's get our friend and community treasure back to doing what she loves by lifting the heavy financial burden of her recovery so she can focus on the challenge of her physical recovery. We don't know the total financial need yet, so have set a modest initial fundraising goal that we may adjust later as we learn more about her expected medical costs and recovery time. - Jana
We need your help, so please donate what you can. You can also help by sharing her GoFundMe link within your own circles and friends.
