As most people in the area know, my brother-in-law Peter Homick, suffered serious burns from a freak accident at the Laurel Diner. Pete sustained burns to 28% of his body. These burns include both of his arms, 1/2 of his face, an ear, his chest, back, leg and toe. During this time, Peter has had to close the diner (his only source of income) while he focuses on his long road to recovery. Peter is fortunate enough to have medical insurance, but like the rest of us, cannot survive without working. Although he has amazing staff, Pete is a one man show, and is the only cook. The expenses of the diner, along with providing for his pregnant wife, and two young daughters, have Pete and his family very worried. Your generous funds will help cover the expenditures of the diner which continue daily regardless, as well as daily living. The Laurel Diner and its loyal customers mean everything to Peter and his family. Asking friends, family, and customers for money is a very difficult thing to do, but Peter and his family would be forever thankful. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!http://www.rep-am.com/news/news-local/2017/05/31/southbury-diner-owner-suffers-burns/
