Hi, I’m Tom Johnson. Since 2007, Mike Mollet has been my caddy and one of my closest friends. Truly part of my family.
Recently, Mike suffered a hypertensive stroke. Thanks to his sister Renee, who recognized slurred speech and other warning signs and called 911 immediately, he received fast care. The good news: no brain bleeding, he’s passing his cognitive tests, and he’s doing well physically. The road ahead, though, will include inpatient rehabilitation with physical therapy and speech therapy, as his doctors strongly recommend.
While Mike focuses on recovery, he can’t work. That means medical costs, rehab expenses, and day-to-day living costs will stack up quickly. He’ll be staying with Renee in Encinitas for the time being, which is a huge blessing, but there are still real financial gaps to cover.
We’re raising funds to help with:
• Inpatient rehab and outpatient follow-up (PT & speech)
• Medical bills and medications
• Rent/food/transportation during the no-work period
• A runway while Mike considers what’s next for work after recovery
If you know Mike, you know he’s one of those rare people who make the world a better place with his positivity. He would give someone the shirt off of his back. Now it’s our turn to be there for him.
