Help Sweet Zeus Get the Care He Deserves

Hi, my name is Daja, and I’m starting this fundraiser for a dear friend and former employee of ours here at NorCal Pet Services. Her loyal and loving German Shepherd, Zeus—affectionately known as “Zuzy Boy”—has been a part of our NorCal family for quite some time.

Recently, Zeus experienced a sudden and frightening medical emergency. His mom noticed he was struggling to breathe and rushed him to the emergency vet. After several tests, the doctors discovered Zeus has unexplained holes in his throat and/or lungs, causing air to leak into his chest cavity—a very serious and rare condition.

He’s currently on his third day in the emergency hospital, where he’s being closely monitored and receiving oxygen to keep him stable. The vets are doing all they can to relieve the pressure in his chest each day while watching to see if his body will begin to heal on its own.

Unfortunately, if it doesn’t, the only remaining option will be open chest surgery—an intense, high-risk, and costly procedure. The alternative is to bring Zeus home under constant watch, which means his mom would have to take time off work to ensure nothing goes wrong during recovery.

We know how overwhelming vet bills can be, especially in an emergency like this. We want to do everything we can to lift some of that burden off this loving family so they can focus on Zeus’s healing without added financial stress.
