Rally for Zachary: Medical Bills and a Car

Everyone,

This fundraiser is for our good friend Zachary Field. If you're getting this message, you know he's a wonderful, hardworking, and caring person.

As you all know, Zach has had a medical anomaly in his hand for many years. He is looking at getting a second finger amputation in the next week, the day before his 35th birthday. Currently, the best specialist for this rare condition is at Boston Children's Hospital, who cannot easily treat patients over the age of 35. This means in addition to large oncoming medical bills, he will also have to find a new specialist for a rare condition.

Zach has dedicated his professional life to organizing labor, and does good, important, active and vital work, with campaigns he has poured his time and effort into getting fair labor standards for others. Zach has not disclosed to me how much his medical bills will be, but I do know he is currently paying more than 50% of his monthly income to rent, and I know he will need financial assistance to deal with these bills.

Finally, on the morning after election day, he totaled his car, and did not have collision insurance, so now he is out a car as well as being in medical debt.

In short, our man requires a win. I would really like to show him that he has a big community behind him, full of people who care about him and support him.

I'm going to reach out to all of our mutual friends and acquaintances this week, and I hope you all can help. I would really like this to work up to a down payment on a car for him, but ultimately, whatever proceeds we gather will go straight to Zachary and he can do with it as he sees fit.

The goal is $5,000, I would love to exceed that, but anything we can do will be great. I'm suggesting $50 donations, but again anything would be wonderful
