Rally for Wendy: Help with Car Repairs Following Accident

Many of you know my best friend of over 40 years, Wendy Jasper. Wendy was in a car accident on Friday, August 23rd. Luckily, physically, she is going to be OK, but the Firebird she was driving was severely damaged.

Both of her cars are in the shop. Her SUV was hit and run by a truck, and the wheel was pushed in, so it can't be driven. It’s being repaired, but she doesn’t have it back yet. She and her son share a car until one of hers is out of the shop.

She has been so happy about the Firebird and has shared the restoration progress on her Facebook page. For those that don’t know her, I have included some photos. She has done all the work in her home garage except for some under the hood that required a lift. She is a Firebird and Camaro enthusiast and always owned one until she needed a “mom” car…This restoration was a project she always wanted to do. Her dad owned a mechanic shop, and she grew up around cars. She and her dad worked on and restored her first car, a 1973 MG Convertible she drove in high school.

Her insurance is full coverage, but her deductibles are high. She just moved, just started a new job, takes care of her mom since her father passed away, and has also been battling some health issues. This is a huge financial setback for her.

I hope that we can help her out as a community of friends. How many times over the past 35 years has Wendy taken photos of your band and made you copies, written articles, or created press kits because she likes you and considers you part of her musical family? She’s rarely gotten paid for this, nor has she accepted or asked for money for it. She’s done what she has over the years out of friendship and love, so let’s show her some love and help her!
