Our friend Wendy is bravely fighting endometrial cancer. She has shown incredible strength and courage, but now she needs our support more than ever.
Many of you have asked, “How can we help?” and many have responded with food, pet sitting, and kind words of support and friendship. However, Wendy’s illness has put a real financial burden on them. Plus, as many of you know, the film industry has changed drastically; between downsizing, mergers, and lower budgets, the work just isn’t there for freelancers the way it used to be. Quite honestly, Wendy and Amy can’t take on any work for the next few months given the travel demands and the side effects Wendy is experiencing from chemotherapy.
Given these circumstances, we urged Wendy and Amy to allow us to reach out, and they reluctantly agreed to start this GoFundMe because they find themselves needing support. We’ve started this campaign to help alleviate some of that burden, so they can focus on what truly matters: healing and recovery.
Your donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward:
- Medical treatments and hospital bills
- Medication and follow-up care
- Transportation to and from Boston
- Pet sitting
- Every day living expenses
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page with others who may be able to help. Every share and message of encouragement makes a huge difference.
Wendy also asked us to share an important message. She would like to spread the word to fellow breast cancer patients that because she was on Tamoxifen for 10 years and never had children, this put her at risk for endometrial cancer. She urges every woman to visit her gynecologist regularly and to please get a colonoscopy if you’re 45/50 and over. Wendy hopes her story will inspire others to take charge of their health and stay vigilant with regular screenings.
It’s also important to note that anything raised beyond what they need will be donated back to Dana-Farber, where Wendy is receiving such amazing, tender, loving care.
Let’s rally around Wendy and show her that she’s not fighting alone.
Thank you so much for your love, generosity, and support.
With Gratitude,
Tracy, Erica, and Matthew
