Hi Everyone! I'm here asking a special request for an amazing, hard-working family man, Wayne Corey! As you all know, Wayne "Papa" Corey has been a devoted Orange Community member & Boston Sports lover for his entire life. He worked up until retirement with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He's opened up his heart & home to individuals in need of respite care. He's umpired your children's baseball games, driven your kids to school & their sporting events, fundraised for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital & devoted his life to the children in this community.

Wayne came into my life when I was just a small child. His son Jason was my age & we were friends. Melissa & her friends used to babysit my siblings & me. We went with them every year on bus trips to Whalom Park, Riverside & raised money for worthy causes, setting up bike-a-thons in the early '90s. He became a father figure to us kids. He treated us like his own.

Whether it was trips to see the Red Sox play, the Bruins, camping at Jellystone, church suppers, movies at the Gardner theaters, or cheering us on the sidelines at a Mahar football game, he was always there!

My child became his granddaughter by choice. Now he has many amazing grandchildren & a great-granddaughter.

I'm writing because he needs our help! He has always given back to his community & now he is in need of lots of love & prayers.

Just a short time ago, he was diagnosed with cancer. Due to his heart condition, he's unable to begin the treatments necessary to stage & treat this rapidly progressing disease.

If you would kindly find it in your hearts to say a prayer for him & his entire family, it would be greatly appreciated. We are asking for donations as Wayne is no longer able to continue his employment. We are still figuring out all of the necessary details regarding insurance, FMLA leave, etc. & what he may or may not qualify for.
