Help Ursula Through Recovery

Dear friends, family, and compassionate community,

On April 4th, Ursula’s life took an unexpected turn when she underwent a six-hour surgery at Harborview Medical Center to remove a large meningioma, a tumor in her brain. While the operation was successful, it has left her unable to run her catering business until her full recovery - the only source of income for her family.

Her husband, Lalith, has stepped in as her primary caregiver, meaning the family has no steady income at this time. We are reaching out to ask for your support to help cover Ursula and her family’s household and living expenses for the next 4 months as she recovers and regains her strength. Ursula is scheduled to be discharged from Harborview Medical Center on Monday, April 14th, and will be transferred to the UW Rehabilitation Clinic at Montlake for inpatient therapy. Her medical team has recommended at least two weeks of rehabilitation to aid in her recovery.

To ensure keeping them afloat during the next 4 months, we are asking for $5,000 per month, which will cover their rent, utilities, groceries and miscellaneous expenses such as transportation, insurance etc. This fundraiser is aimed to address their most immediate living expenses, as they have not yet received any medical bills from Harborview Medical Center.
