Rally for Trysten's Brain Injury Recovery
Donation protected
Trysten Dooley is an amazing and kind 12-year-old, one of the most respectful caring kids you could encounter. He is an all-around excellent athlete who suffered a horrific injury while playing a game he loves. Trysten was pitching (and rocking it) while playing in Rapid City on Friday June 13th when a line drive hit him directly in the side of his head causing a significant skull fracture and brain bleed. This devastating event was not only witnessed by his entire team of 12-year-olds, but his mom and dad were having to watch this via game changer live stream as they were in Omaha for a pre-planned baseball tournament for his younger brother Jaxin. Nothing more than a mom's worst fear for her kid to get hurt playing a game he loves but then to be so far away and not with him during this tragedy. And to make matters harder for his family tornados in Denver were making flights delayed for his mom to make it to him.
He was rushed to the closest ER and had CT scans and spent the night in the hospital after consultations with the neurosurgeons. He was discharged the next morning on anti-seizure medications, anti-nausea medication and Tylenol. Like a trooper he wanted to go and support his team however unfortunately he was only able to stay for a short period of time before he began to feel sick and had to leave to go lay down. He started having symptoms of nausea and vomiting that was not fully relieved with the anti-nausea medications.
He began having symptoms of left side tingling and numbness in his hand, unable to buckle his seatbelt, decreased grip and severe headache at the location of the fracture. On Sunday evening he was taken to Banner Health in Casper where another CT was completed and it was determined he needed to be sent to Children's Hospital of Colorado life flight. He is currently there getting more testing to determine what the next action would be.
Any and all help and prayers for this family will be appreciated and helpful during this difficult time.
