My father in law Tom Robinson is facing cancer yet again. Tom has had a long battle with Kidney cancer that started when he was 39 years old and he had his kidney removed. He lived for 17 years healthy and cancer free till in 2005 it reared its head again this time in his soft tissue then lungs. He spent many years, many surgeries and lived in extreme pain till 4 years ago when he had a full leg amputation and spent many months in hospitals and rehabs. Which forced him to retire earlier than planned. In these past 4 years they had to sell their home because of the financial burdens of not working and medical bills. The last 4 years although difficult in learning to live without his leg he has been cancer free and we all thought it was finally over and he had this long awful battle behind him. Till two weeks ago when it was discovered that the cancer was back this time in his only remaining kidney.
Through this long awful cancer journey my father in law has always remained positive, has never complained or felt sorry for himself. He has always been a reminder to his family especially my three boys of strength, resilience and to not give up no matter what life throws at you. He is not one to ask for help, so here I am asking for him. This next battle as the previous ones is a major financial burden to receive the treatments that can save his life. Any amount big or small would help some of that burden and let Tom focus on fighting and beating this again. Thank you very much!!
