Rally for Tom: Aid His Healing Journey
Donation protected
As some of you may or may not know, our dear friend Tom has been in the hospital since Monday, February 24th. Tom began not feeling well a couple of weeks ago and then he started experiencing some discomfort in his foot. He went to the ER and was immediately admitted. Within two days, he was having surgery to remove his right big toe and the surrounding infected tissue. On Wednesday, March 5th, Tom had a second surgery on his foot to remove even more infected tissue.
While the second procedure went well, it’s left him with a challenging road ahead. Once released from the hospital, Tom will require physical therapy and home health care three times a week. Additionally, he will have home wound vac care needs. Due to all of this, Tom will be unable to work for the next 6-8 weeks as he recovers. Due to having to take time off previously due to complications from his diabetes, he is left with no paid medical leave during his recovery time. On top of that, the medical bills are piling up from two surgeries and nearly two weeks of being in the hospital, adding stress to an already tough situation.
Tom is so important to so many people and doggies. As you may know, Tom not only works his full-time job, but he is also the best dog-sitter anyone could ask for. He has always been there for our family when we needed something. When we leave our dogs with him, we know they are well taken care of and it gives us peace when we can't be there with them. We want to help Tom feel the same sense of peace during this trying time. He’s not one to ask for help, so we’re stepping in to rally around him during this time.
The funds we raise will go directly toward covering his medical expenses and helping with everyday costs like rent, groceries, and bills while he’s out of work. Every little bit helps, whether it’s a donation or just sharing this page with others who might be able to chip in.
Let’s come together to give Tom the peace of mind he needs to focus on healing. Thank you so much for your generosity and support—it means the world to him and to all of us who care about him.
