As most of you know, Myron “Petey” Roper has been battling colon cancer for a number of years. In September of 2015, Petey was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. At that time, the 2-year survival rate for his diagnosis was just 11%. With Petey’s strong faith in God and determination, he has been fighting for 5 years now!
Over the last 5 years, he has received 8 rounds of chemotherapy, 3 surgeries, and countless other procedures. While he has made some gains throughout the treatments, the cancer has unfortunately continued to progress.
In July, Petey and Tiffany celebrated 15 years of marriage! Petey is a father of 4 incredible children: Noah, Elijah, Greenley, Isaiah and a new grandfather to baby Archer. Faith and family are everything to him.
Petey is a realtor with the John Wentworth Group and has continued to work throughout his battle, up until the last few months. Tiffany is a teacher at the International Academy of Flint. With the decline in Petey’s health and the looming Covid-19 threat, Tiffany needs to focus her attention on taking care of Petey and her family.
Due to the lack of income and the immense expense of past and current medical treatments, we have started a GoFundMe for those that would like to support the Roper family.
Although Petey’s body is weak, his faith is unwavering.
“I may have cancer but cancer doesn’t have me, because I belong to God.” ~ Myron Roper
