Josh and Mikaela Kiser are expecting their second baby girl whose due date was originally May 30th. Mikaela was admitted to the hospital on January 26th, after her water suddenly broke at only 22 weeks pregnant. As this is now a very high risk pregnancy, she will remain admitted until she delivers. If she has not delivered before 34 weeks, they will deliver the baby at that time.
Over the past few weeks, many people have asked what they can do to help the Kisers during this challenging time. Their number one answer remains the same: please pray for them and this baby. We believe in the power of prayer and know God does miracles. This GoFundme is being set up for donations if you feel led to give. Giving is not expected any way, but would be so appreciated.
Mikaela has had to be off work since being admitted to the hospital and will be off for an unknown amount of time (pending delivery date and NICU course). Although she had some vacation and sick time saved, this time has been exhausted. Unfortunately, she does not get any paid maternity leave. Josh continues to work as usual for now and make the 2.5 hour trip to the hospital when able. He will get 3 days paid paternity leave. The medical team has informed them that baby girl will have a NICU stay once she arrives, and likely a prolonged one, so the hospital bills will continue.
Any money raised will go to a variety of needs for the family: hospital bills, regular bills, gas, food, childcare, baby items (they haven’t gotten anything to prepare to bring baby home yet or set up a nursery), etc.
Again, giving is not expected in any way. But so many people that love and care about them have asked if there’s any thing else they can do to help, and I know this would be a huge blessing to them. Thank you all for your prayers, encouragement, support, and love.
