Hello friends and family,
This week our beloved Tee experienced a medical emergency. He was rushed to the hospital.
But let's back up for a moment, to the beginning.
Tee had been battling a blood infection that settled in his heart that caused endocarditis, causing "endocarditis vegetations".
A piece of that vegetation broke off and lodged in his spleen; permanently killing 1/3 of his spleen. He was put on antibiotics that were supposed to cure him of this condition.
However, the day before he was supposed to complete the antibiotics and get his pic line removed from his arm, he experienced the emergency this past week.
What we now know:
More of the vegetation broke off and went to his brain causing a stroke. The damage that has been done cannot be undone with surgery. He will require therapy to recover from the stroke damage.
The big hurtle ahead is the removal of vegetation/infection from his heart and to repair the damage to his heart. It will require a very delicate heart surgery. His cardiologists say they have never seen an infection like this: not only resistant to antibiotics but gotten worse despite them. It's a medical anomaly and it's a miracle he is still with us.
Right now, we're in the middle of the woods searching for a pathway to healing. We still have a long ways to go until we are out of the woods.
The funds will be used for immediate financial relief from lost wages, medical expenses, personal care for the next few weeks.
We are all thankful for any help as we rally around our beloved Tee.
We apoligize in advance if this is how you are finding out. We have been absolutely overwhelmed with his care and are mentally and physically exhausted.
Please keep us in your thoughts, prayers, and loving well-wishes.
