Update: Tank became ill on Thursday July 3, 2025 requiring an overnight stay at the local ER vet clinic. The following morning we transfered him to Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine where he remains. Tank is being treated in comfort care due to extreme vomiting and unknown illness. They've placed an NG tube to alleviate nausea, drain stomach fluid build up and use for feeding. It has helped. However, Tank has not quite snapped back to himself requiring a ton of medical testing. Tank is being tested for Addisons, Cushings, bacterial infections and parasites. Doctors believe Tank will need a CT scan to rule out any major complications leading to pancreatitis or GI issues. I will post the medical bills/ quote from Iowa State. We've exceeded our deposit at this point requiring another deposit for his care tomorrow. We are not asking for funds, however, we've been asked if we have gofundme so I will leave this up for anyone who would like to contribute. All we truly ask for is prayers that our big guy makes it home without any major life changing ailments. We appreciate all of you who have shown support! ❤️ Thank you!
My name is Ashley and I am raising money for our beloved boys medical expenses. Tank is our 2 year old Rottweiler who became extremely sick on April 8, 2025. Tank was showing signs of pain and discomfort and began vomiting in the early hours of April 8th prompting us to take him to the vet. We thought he was just experiencing some gastrointestinal issues and would recover with a little help from an antibiotic and nausea medication. Once home, Tanks health began to decline leading us to take him back yesterday April 9, 2025. After running some labs our amazing vets opted to do x rays and an ultrasound. They found some abnormalities on his scan that led them to believe he had a mass next to his liver. After exploratory surgery it was discovered that he had a sever case of ACUTE PANCREATITIS and PANCREATIC NODULAR HYPERPLASIA. Though these conditions are very concerning and can be life threatening they can be overcome. Tank was not at a stage where they thought euthanasia was his best outcome. Therefore, we are opting to have him hospitalized in the ICU. This is extremely expensive. We were quoted $7,426-$8,540 to have him there until Friday. We also have a $2000 medical cost for his surgery. Tank will likely need 7-14 days of care. We will do anything to save our guy. Many have reached out asking if they could help and though we hate to ask for help this is one time we could really use it. We always prepare for the worst and had some money saved but this more than we imagined it would be. We appreciate any help and your kindness. Anything helps but most importantly please pray for our boy!
