Help Tamy Fight Leukemia and Heal
If you live in Somerville, chances are you know Tamy — the warm smile behind maca, the macaron shop that’s brought color, joy, and sweetness to the community for years. She’s the one who remembers your favorite flavor, shows up for every local fundraiser, and goes out of her way to support other small businesses. Now, it’s our turn to show up for her.
For the past month, Tamy has been battling severe, unexplained back pain that left her unable to walk and unable to work. Many of us had no idea how much she was enduring behind the scenes — because even in pain, she still found ways to fulfill orders. Her dedication and resilience have always been extraordinary.
After weeks of visiting urgent care clinics and hospitals searching for answers, Tamy finally got the devastating news no one ever expects to hear: she has Leukemia. The diagnosis came after a series of CT scans, X-rays, blood tests, bone marrow biopsies, and multiple transfusions. It’s been a whirlwind of medical procedures and emotional shock as she begins to process what this means for her future.
This diagnosis comes at the end of what has already been an incredibly difficult year for Tamy. She lost her father, said goodbye to her cat, and poured her energy and resources into remodeling her store to keep her dream alive. Now, she faces one of the hardest battles of her life — all while managing the financial uncertainty that comes with being a small business owner unable to work.
Tamy has given so much to her community. She’s mentored young entrepreneurs, donated to local causes, and made her shop a safe, joyful space for countless people. The outpouring of love she’s already received shows just how many lives she’s touched. But she has a long road ahead — and she needs our help to get through it.
Funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward Tamy’s medical expenses, treatment costs, and living expenses while she’s unable to work. This support will allow her to focus on healing — not on worrying about bills or how to keep her business running while she’s in treatment.
If you’ve ever been inspired by Tamy’s kindness, enjoyed one of her macarons, or felt the sense of community she’s helped build, please consider contributing. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. Even if you can’t give financially, sharing this campaign or leaving a note of encouragement will mean the world to her.
Tamy has always believed in spreading light, even in the darkest times. Now, it’s our turn to help her feel that same light reflected back. Let’s rally together to help her overcome Leukemia with the same strength, creativity, and heart she’s always shown the rest of us.
Thank you for your love, generosity, and support.
