The Lewiston Fire Department and the Asotin County Sheriff's Office staff are seeking donations to help a member of our work family, Stephanie Rudy. This is her story.....
My name is Stephanie Rudy and in December 2019 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. I am currently undergoing chemo treatment every three weeks. The plan is to shrink the cancer as much as possible in order to perform surgery. A few more sessions of chemo after surgery and if all goes well, I will enjoy many more years with my family and friends.
I am someone who has enjoyed God’s blessing my whole life. Shawn and I have been married for almost 15 years. He is my everything; the one I’m looking forward to spending many more years with. Between us, we have 4 children and 4 grandchildren who we love to spend time with whenever we can. We are also very fortunate to be surrounded by our close friends.
I have always been a family first kind of person. Little did I know when I joined the Lewiston Fire Department almost 20 years ago I would inherit my other family. Over the years I have seen first-hand the compassion and support LFD members have shown each other and the citizens of the Valley.
Fortunately, Shawn is also surrounded by caring compassionate people from the Asotin County Sheriff’s Department and Clarkston Law Enforcement. He has worked for the sheriff’s office for almost 13 years. Last spring when Shawn had surgery for his cancer, we were overwhelmed with all of the love and support we received from everyone.
Now that we are facing cancer again, we are humbled by the continued outpouring of care and compassion. We will never be able to thank you all enough for your support and prayers, not only during this time but through all our times of ups and downs. As we fight this fight, please continue to include me and my family in your prayers.
Our goal is to help the Rudy family with the burdensome costs associated with fighting this cancer battle. This their family's second battle with cancer in the last year. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.
