Rally for Steph: A Mother's Plea

Hello everyone! I am posting on behalf of Allison Forrester, for her daughter, Steph Forrester. On Saturday, July 26, 2025, Allison received the call in every parent's worst nightmare - Steph was in a terrible car accident and was sent to a trauma center by helicopter in Virginia. Allison has been bed side in the trauma ICU, since 12:30 am Sunday morning, and will remain there as long as she needs to until Steph is stable. Steph's condition is critical! Steph has 2 lacerated kidneys, a lacerated liver, several complete open fractures in her left arm and leg, every vertebra is fractured, rib fractures, sternum fracture, and broken pelvis! She is on a ventilator, only breathing on her own at 30%. Her left side is crushed completely, and her right side is badly injured from the extreme road rash she endured when she was ejected from the car! Steph has already undergone 2 surgeries, and will have many more ahead of her, if she is able to hold on! The doctors attempted to wake Steph yesterday, and it did not go well. Steph's future remains uncertain. We are asking for donations to help cover food, travel, and lodging expenses for Allison during this difficult time. Allison will also be out of work for an extended period of time and will need to keep up with the home expenses for her and Steph's 9-year-old daughter. It is uncertain at this time if there is adequate car insurance coverage for all 3 vehicles totaled in this accident, plus medical expenses. We ask for everyone's prayers for Steph to recover and to pray that we don't need to change this Go Fund Me to funeral expenses in the future. UPDATE: Steph is AWAKE!!! She is in A LOT of pain, but she is awake and able to whisper! We are all so very grateful for all the prayers for her brain to be intact and functioning!!! There is still a very long road ahead with many surgeries to come, and she will continue to be at a high risk for infection! Please continue to share this and keep Steph and Allison in your prayers!

UPDATE - 8/12/25: Steph had her leg surgery last week - 14.5 hours of MICRO surgery and skin grafting!!! Unfortunately, there have been many complications of that surgery, including a bedside procedure to re-open large sections of the sutures due to swelling. Her leg is the main concern right now, as it is open to air and has massive swelling. Infection, and rejection of hardware is still a high risk Steph faces. These set backs have delayed the arm surgery. Fingers crossed that will happen this week. She has nerve damage in both wrists, making simple tasks much more difficult with use of only 2 fingers on each hand. Feeding herself, getting a drink, and typing on a tablet have been great accomplishments this past week! She is in great spirits, and thankful to be alive! Steph's goal, along side of working hard at getting better, is to make a scrapbook of this journey. She did get to see the pictures of the car, by her own request, and now has a better understanding of how lucky she is to still be alive! The staff at UVA Medical Center have been nothing short of AMAZING! At this time, everyone agrees Steph is in the best place possible! When we get to a discharge plan, Steph will need intensive inpatient therapies at a 6 month minimum! If anyone is up for a road trip, Steph has her phone back so you can reach out to her directly to set up a good time. She is also able to call on video on her tablet. We all appreciate everyone's words of encouragement, prayers, donations, and even all the shares! (My apologies for the delayed update, but I promise to do better moving forward!)
