To know Sta'Nisha is to love her. Whether she's one of your best friends (like me), your family, your co-worker, your current or former basketball coach, the mom of one of your kiddo's friends, a fellow worshipper, or something else, she is one of the most loving and authentic women you'll ever meet. She is a rock for her family (James, Jeremiah, and Jonah) and really everyone around her, constantly prioritizing the needs of others over herself.

After an emergency appendectomy in March, Sta'Nisha received an unexpected call from her surgeon less than a week later. It turns out her appendix didn't burst from appendicitis, but from a colorectal tumor that had been growing inside it. She was diagnosed with Stage 2 Adenocarcinoma and things have moved quickly from there. She is scheduled for a right hemicolectomy on April 16th and will begin 6 months of chemotherapy several weeks after the surgery.

As you can expect, the financial impact of having multiple surgeries, starting chemotherapy, and needing to take time off work (without PTO) adds so much stress to an already unimaginable situation. I'm starting this GoFundMe in hopes that their community of friends and family (or even friends of friends) will be able to rally around Sta'Nisha and James to show them they're not in this battle alone. If you're not in a position to donate financially, we have an equally, or perhaps more important request, to lift Sta'Nisha, her doctors, nurses, and family up in prayer over the next several months.
