Hi, my name is Diane Weaver and I’m hoping to gather support for my dear niece Shelley Salter, who was recently diagnosed with stage 3 esophageal cancer, which has resulted from acid reflux. She has always been a rock to anyone she’s close to, and now we are rallying to support her and her hardworking husband, Heath. Unfortunately, the cancer is in the midst of vital organs and a major artery, so surgery isn’t a good option at this time. She immediately began a variety of nutritional supplements and alternative treatments as she awaits the next steps directed by her physician, who demonstrates great compassion and commitment to her specific needs, which helps a lot.

As most people realize, cancer itself is an exhausting disease and takes all of her energy. Trying to eat enough calories to sustain her isn’t going so well now. Swallowing and keeping anything down is quite difficult. In the coming weeks and months she will need assistance with copays and transportation to various appointments as well as with nutritional supplements and energy sources.

Our family is very concerned, yet we remain hopeful and prayerful that she will beat this!
