My name is Rochelle Van Pelt, and I’m raising funds for my brother, Shawn Weinfeld. Shawn is in critical condition in Boise, Idaho. He is fighting against sepsis and is currently in a medically induced coma with his chest cut open as doctors work to clear a rare, life-threatening infection. He will need to undergo weekly chest operations for 3–4 weeks in order to flush out infected fluid.

Shawn’s wife, Kim, is by his side 24/7 and unable to work. They’re uninsured, independent truck drivers who live in their semi, which is now parked in Oregon, leaving Kim with no place to stay other than the hospital.
