Within hours of taking her to Urgent Care, earlier this week, for what they thought was a spider bite, the family was given news that no one wants to hear. Scarlett has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

Her platelets should be above 50,000 - Scarletts are at 9. She's already had 2 platelet transfusions, and her heart rate is still elevated.

They will be performing a bone marrow biopsy, placing a port for chemo, and immediately starting her chemo treatments.

The doctor was very upfront & honest with the family and told them they have a long, hard fight ahead of us. Scarlett could be at Children’s Hospital for a few months during this first round of treatment.

Please keep Scarlett, her parents, Morgyn and Travis and her grandparents in your prayers. With her starting chemo tomorrow, it's best the family keep visitors to immediate family only at this time, however, Scarlett would love texts & phone calls.

The family has also incurred a large amount of unexpected costs and will be unable to work during this time. Let’s come together and help this family get through this difficult time.
