Rally for Sarah's Healing Journey
Donation protected
***UPDATE*** Feb 26
Guess who is headed home tomorrow?? Sarah is! She has shown wonderful progress after her spinal surgery both at the hospital and at the rehab facility where she has been working diligently with the OT team every day this past week to get more mobility back. Once she straps herself into her back brace and assembles her arm sling, she is able to utilize her side walker to stand up and scoot around nice and carefully. Because of these huge steps forward (literally and figuratively) and her tenacity, she has received the OK to be discharged to go home tomorrow (Feb 27). The rehab facility will then schedule continued rehab care at the Jansson household for the foreseeable future.
On behalf of Sarah, Jeff, and family, we cannot begin to thank everyone enough for their continued love throughout the past few weeks. She wants everyone to know that each and every text, call, thought, card, gift, flower arrangement, candy, meal, prayer, donation, hug, vibe, etc. has not gone unnoticed and it ALL, without a doubt, helped her get through some tough times along the way. We truly could not have done it without this village and for that, we are immensely grateful and so blessed. Much love to you all!
**UPDATE** Feb 11
Sarah has been doing really well after surgery and resting up. She fortunately has avoided paralysis and has feeling in all her extremities. She was moved from the ICU to the PCU (progressive care unit) to continue to rest and start trying to move around a bit. BIG news- She was able to stand up and take 3 steps! She is undoubtedly dealing with loads of pain but is still able to push through and see progress
We truly cannot begin to thank you all enough for all your support. All of your love, prayers, well wishes, donations, meals, etc. has been a saving grace. We are forever grateful to be part of this beautiful community of people.

Our sister-in-law, Sarah Jansson, was in a tragic rollover vehicle accident this past Saturday morning where she was ejected from the car. She suffered several broken ribs, a fractured scapula, lacerations, and multiple fractured vertebrae (no head trauma, thank goodness). She underwent an 8-hour emergency multilevel spinal fusion surgery Sunday afternoon and is now back in the ICU for recovery. Thankfully the amazing doctors were able to complete the surgery successfully with no complications, however, the financial complications are now looming. The months (or years) of rehabilitation after spine surgery will start soon as well.
We would like to note they lost their only working vehicle in the accident, so they are in desperate need of another one in order to get their kiddos to school.
Any sort of help is welcome (prayers, support, love, meals, rides, financial, etc) to get our brother Jeff, sister-in-law Sarah, and our three nephews through this difficult time. Her road to recovery will be long and tough, but Sarah is tougher. She has the biggest heart and is always there for her friends and family to help, so we want to be sure to help in any way we can.
Our cousin, Jen Valasek, also graciously created a meal train for the family. If you are able to assist by delivering a meal to their home or sending a gift card anytime this month, please check out this link to sign up:
We understand the huge ask, but we cannot thank you enough in advance for your time and support and for those who have already helped thus far, much love to you all!
