Hi, this is Sam’s daughter Kayla. September of 2024, he went into the doctor’s office to get a pre-op ultrasound and physical for a well needed surgery of his hernia. In the ultrasound they found 2 tumors! One that had metastasized into his right hip. The other one, on the tube between his bladder and his kidney. Which wasn’t great! They tested it and it came back stage 4 bladder cancer. So the doctor told him to watch it and if there is no output from the bladder, he needs to go into the ER right away.

Unfortunately, on October 3rd of 2024, my dad went into the hospital because he was in kidney failure. The tumor has cut off the function to flush the kidney normally. He spent lots of days and sometimes weeks in the hospital. Between pneumonia, UTI’s, and a few rounds of chemo and radiation. Thankfully he is still kicking!

He would really love a scooter so he can get out to get fresh air comfortably. He would still love to travel with his family for the time he has left. His dream place to visit would be Puerto Rico, again!
