Rally for Ryan's Healing: Family in Need

UPDATE: Ryan’s surgery was performed on 5/5 and he was discharged from the hospital the next day. Thankfully, with his team of doctors working diligently together, they were able to execute a surgical and treatment plan that allowed him to keep his foot. He has been recovering at home with strict limitations where within our home, he is restricted to a bedroom and a bathroom as he is not able to do the stairs to access the rest of our home. He has been following closely the instructions of his primary doctor for getting control of his diabetes and focusing on his diet. He is receiving IV antibiotics through the picc line around the clock. He has a nurse visiting weekly and wound care appointments weekly as well.

Daily, he receives care for his picc line and wound dressing changes by his wife who sometimes makes multiple trips home during her workday to tend to his needs. We feel fortunate he is progressing well. According to his surgeon, a return to work date is impossible to tell at this time and he will be out for no less than another month. She has very specific thresholds he must reach before she will allow him to work out of the home and unfortunately his employer does not have a work from home option.

Your continued support means the world to us and we are making every effort possible to keep Ryan comfortable and on the mend.

Please continue to share this link as you never know who his story may reach where additional help may be available. Thank you!

—————————————————

Ryan is a devoted husband, father and friend… the kind of person who puts everyone before himself and his family as his top priority. He is the primary provider for his wife and two sons and works hard to excel in his career.

Thursday evening, after reaching his breaking point with increasing pain in his foot, he finally went to the emergency room to seek treatment. What followed was unexpected and now we’re asking for your help as Ryan focuses on treatment and healing. He was transferred and admitted to the hospital for necrosis that developed in his right foot and the infection has spread into the bone. He requires surgical debridement as well as long term antibiotics and eventually home care. The success of which will determine if any additional surgery is required in the future.

While he awaits surgery and a recovery plan, we have learned he is facing up to a few months out of work and so we are asking for assistance with both medical costs and lost wages. Alleviating some of the financial burden he and his family are facing will reduce some stress and worry allowing him to focus on healing and recovery.

Any help received or shares of this post are most appreciated by our whole family.
