Rally for Rudy: Job Loss and Mom's Care
Donation protected
In a single month, my life changed drastically.
My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and had to move to receive the care she needs. I’ve watched the disease take hold faster than I ever imagined. She was once a strong-willed, hardworking single mom, someone who never backed down from a challenge and always put her family first. Seeing her slowly lose her memory has been devastating.

The disease has progressed rapidly. There are days when she struggles to remember who I am. The hardest part is seeing her look at my kids - her grandkids - with confusion, not recognizing them as the little ones she once held and cherished.
Around the same time that she was diagnosed, I lost my job under unfair circumstances. I was struggling emotionally, and when my supervisor asked if I wanted to go home, I took the offer. The next day, I was told I had left early without permission and was fired. I would have never left if I had known that would happen.
Shortly after, I lost my car, which only made things harder. I’ve been doing what I can to stay afloat, leasing a car through Uber so I can earn an income, but before I can make money, I have to pay Uber first.
On top of that, I fell behind on rent and am now at risk of eviction. Thankfully, my landlord worked with me on a plan, but I need to pay off my back rent to avoid losing the apartment.
I’ve been doing everything I can to stay afloat, but I urgently need help to catch up and get back to a stable place. Your support will allow me to pay back my rent, sustain future rent payments, and live a more stable life. I'm at risk of eviction. Please help me stay in Los Angeles - it's home and where I want to rebuild my life.
Your support will not only help me pay back my rent and stabilize my finances but also give me something even more valuable—time with my mom. Instead of having to work nonstop just to stay afloat, I’ll be able to visit her and be present during this difficult transition. I know I can’t stop the disease, but I can still be there for her, remind her she’s loved, and make sure she’s not alone in this journey. However, the financial struggles I’m facing are making that nearly impossible.
How Funds Will Be Used:
- Pay off back rent to avoid eviction and regain housing stability
- Free up time to be with my mom during a heartbreaking and critical stage of her illness
How You Can Help:
- Donate. Any amount makes a difference!
- Share. Spreading the word can help reach more people.
- Encourage Others to Contribute. Every bit of support counts.
I appreciate your kindness more than words can say. Thank you for helping me rebuild and be there for my mom.
