Rally for Royal: Heart Surgery and Recovery

Hi!
I’m Royal’s older sister, and as we continue navigating the wild road ahead of him, one major concern remains—which brings us here to GoFundMe, hoping that family and friends will rally around Royal as he prepares and recovers from open-heart surgery.

This is a very difficult ask for Royal, but there are times in life when you have to look past the hard moments and focus on better days ahead.

Royal has been diagnosed with calcification of his aortic valve and an enlarged aorta. In simple terms, his valve is no longer functioning properly, and due to the nature of his job (a laborer working in extreme heat), there’s a serious risk of valve failure, which could be fatal. He has experienced multiple syncope (fainting) episodes, and while the surgery is not considered emergent, it is absolutely necessary.

There are two potential approaches to fixing the valve, both requiring open-heart surgery, ICU stays, and several days to weeks in the hospital. Additionally, doctors want to replace his aorta to prevent the risk of a future aneurysm. We have a family history of aortic aneurysms, so this decision has not been made lightly.
As a laborer, Royal's income depends entirely on his ability to work—no work means no pay. And in Texas, disability laws differ from other states. His surgery is scheduled for August 15th.

Not only does Royal have ongoing living expenses, but we also need to get our dad down to Texas on short notice to care for him during his recovery. Heart surgery is no joke—it’s tough, it’s real, and it’s raw. Royal is 38 years old with a beautiful little girl whom he desires to be there for and watch grow up.

If you’d be so kind, please keep him in your prayers—pray for a smooth surgery, steady and guided hands for his surgical team, and a strong recovery. And if you're able to help by donating, it would be deeply appreciated.

Thank you for your love and support! ❤️
