Rally for Rosana

Hello Friends,

Where to start... we're still a little in shock as we process what's been happening.

Rosana Perri recently traveled to Necochea, Argentina to assist with a death in the family.  Her return ticket home was scheduled for the end of May.  The first couple weeks she was down there she was having severe pain in her stomach.  As time progressed, she decided to visit the hospital and they found that her lower intestine had burst.  They then rushed her into emergency surgery.  In the midst of this, her husband Carlos booked a flight there immediately because of how serious the circumstances were. She came out of the surgery and immediately had complications with her lungs. This turned out to be Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome.

This means that she cannot breathe on her own.  Mucus has plugged up her bronchial tubes and the doctors performed every procedure available to reactivate the lungs.  She didn't really react to any of them.  She was put in the ICU and is in critical condition, hooked up to a ventilator.  The doctors decided to put her in a medical induced coma to keep her calm.  This is now a day by day case.  Friday, May 18th, was the worst day for Rosana, and the doctors weren't sure what was going to happen due to the fact that she wasn't reacting to anything.  But, she is still hanging on, fighting for her life.

She has made "hairline" progressions in a positive direction, but the doctors are saying she could go backwards at any point during this time.

The Viels are first generation immigrants that came to this country for all the right reasons.  They've never asked for handouts, they've worked very hard for everything they have.  I have decided to put together this fund to help with all the medical bills and travel expenses they will have.  It takes an entire day to get to Necochea, Argentina.  Traveling to that country is very expensive and the family may have to travel back and forth many times depending on how she does.  If Rosana keeps making these tiny steps in the right direction, the doctors have predicted she will most likely be in Argentina for the rest of the year.

Please don't feel obligated to donate - all we ask is that you keep her in your prayers.
