Rod (Dannell) Rodriguez was letting the family dogs in from outside on Thursday April 18th, 2019, when he was knocked down the basement stairs. He complained of a headache for a couple of days, but on Saturday April 20th, 2019 he started talking nonsense (couldn't understand any words he was saying). He was transpoted to Altru emergency room where he was told he had an active bleed that was pooling between his skull and brain creating pressure on his brain. Altru had to do an emergency surgery to put tubes through his skull to drain the blood and try to relieve pressure. Sunday, Rod started to decline leading to a seizure. Ultimately, they had to insert a breathing tube and perform a craniotomy ( remove a portion of his skull) to relieve the continued building pressure on his brain. Rod remains in the hospital whike his body/brain recovers.
Over the next couple months, Rod will need to complete rehab to regain his strength. Once he has stabilized, he will need to have another surgery to insert a plate in his skull.
Due to this unfortunate event, Rod will be unable to work for the next several months. Julie, working a full time job and a part time job, is falling behind on current bills. With the added expense of medical bills, things are going unpaid. Please help with anything you can to help this family get current and maintain their financial obligations.
Thank you for all your help!
