RALLY for Rocky & Ted Reeves to beat 2 Cancers

It’s time to “Rally for the Reeves! Rocky and Ted's children, Theo & Andrea joined forces with lifelong friends/spiritual brother Jim & Melissa Johnson to offer this opportunity to support Rocky and Ted. We know many love Ted and Rocky and want to help them in any way you can. You all know since 2021, their battle for health and wellness has become unexpectedly and radically more complicated, more challenging, and definitely more expensive.

As a couple, they braved Ted's heart surgery and continued successfully managing Ted's diabetes. In 2021, while camping, Ted thought he strained his shoulder but was diagnosed with endocarditis, which is the life-threatening inflammation of the inner lining of the heart's chambers and valves that had traveled to his clavicle. He had urgent surgery to remove this infection, but the healing process persisted which is very unusual. In April 2022, the medical team did a biopsy of bone marrow and determined that Ted has multiple myeloma, a cancer that crowds out healthy blood cells. Ted is now in week 6 of a 6-month treatment plan to beat this cancer. This was mind-blowing for all of us!

And then... in June of 2022, Rocky had a biopsy that identified early stage breast cancer. The lump was surgically removed and she is in the midst of 20 day radiation treatments to prevent the cancer from spreading. This was more mind-blowing news!

These events are obviously more than any couple or family could imagine would be in their future or could budget for.

We are calling this a “Rally for the Reeves" because a rally is when people with big hearts come together 1) to fight an aggressive opponent which are cancers; 2) to cause recovery in health and spirit for our parents and friends; and 3) to drive in a road rally. This is a Road Rally for LIFE with and for Rocky and Ted!

One of the many adorable reasons Rocky and Ted were attracted to each other and became a couple is their generous hearts. As individuals and throughout their married life, Rocky and Ted have gone out of their way to support many of us: family, friends, neighbors, youth athletics, color guard, community, coworkers, camping buddies, and beyond – touching even more lives we aren’t even aware of.

Rocky and Ted worked many years building a life and family together – Mom working in the insurance industry for decades and Dad driving (in your mind sing Alabama's "Roll On Eighteen Wheeler.") Rocky and Ted imagined their years of work and service would lead to Golden Years of exploring our great nation in their camper and years of fun with grandchildren. They NEVER imagined battling different kinds of cancer at the same time!

We are now "calling all Angels" of family and friends with a sincere invitation to RALLY with us! This is an opportunity and practical way to express your love and support for Rocky and Ted to help them beat these cancers. We know times are tough and money is tight for so many families.
