My brother, my best friend Robert, was in a severe motorcycle accident last week in which his life was put on hold. He broke his spine in two places, as well as shattering his kneecap and tearing all major ligaments and tendons in his leg. He has had 2 surgeries already and will need 4 or 5 more to salvage his knee and hopefully, through God's grace, be able to walk again. Robert is the kind of man that on multiple occasions has driven 8 plus hours to be by my side when life was getting the best of me. He just started an oilfield job 2 weeks prior and was set to head back to work Tuesday, 2 days before the accident. He will be facing the toughest challenge of his life learning to walk and live the life he once lived before. I am asking for anyone and everyone, whether it's 5 cents or $5, to think of a time someone in your life showed up for you the way Robert has shown up for everyone around him and contribute ANYTHING AT ALL! He was 26 days away from his work insurance kicking in and will receive no help financially towards the hundreds of thousands of dollars he will now have in medical bills.
