If you know Kimberley Oney, you know a mother whose world revolves around her two sons, JJ and Robbie. Despite facing unimaginable hardship—including the tragic and sudden loss of the boys' father in March 2023—this family has remained a beacon of joy. JJ and Robbie are known for their kindness and a "life-goes-on" spirit that inspires everyone they meet.

A Medical Crisis: No More Time to Wait

In April 2025, what seemed like a minor basketball head injury changed everything. After suffering from persistent headaches and an inability to concentrate, Robbie was diagnosed with Cerebral Cavernous Malformations (CCM 2-10 deletion)—a genetic mutation that causes abnormal clusters of blood vessels in the brain and other parts of the body.

While doctors originally hoped to avoid surgery, Robbie’s condition has rapidly declined to the point that it is now affecting his eye sight. Surgery is no longer a choice—it is a life-saving necessity. He is expected to have at least one, possibly 2 brain surgeries.

The Financial Breaking Point

The timing could not be worse. Kimberly is a single mother currently unable to work due to her also suffering from this genetic condition. While the children are entitled to an inheritance, it is currently tied up in probate courts, leaving them with no access to the funds they need for this emergency. They are facing this crisis with not much safety net during this rocky economic climate.

    •    A Reliable Vehicle: The family’s current car is old and the A/C is failing. With a Texas summer approaching and frequent high-stakes trips, a newer, more dependable vehicle is a desperate necessity for Robbie’s safety.

    •    Housing & Accessibility: Make some renovations to his current home to make it handicapped accessible or pay for the home that is stuck in probate.

    •    Rehabilitation & Home Health: Post-operative life will require extensive physical therapy and professional home healthcare.

    •    Travel & Medical Bills: Your donations cover lodging and meals, fuel, and the any out-of-pocket medical expenses.

Kimberley is terrified, but she is staying strong for her boys.
