In March, our friend Rob was diagnosed with colon cancer. He went in for a routine exam and doctors discovered a tumor in his intestine. They also found a mass in his esophagus. We don’t know if they are related. We are still processing everything. There are many answers that we are waiting on, but what we do know is that he needs his friends more than ever.
Rob is having a biopsy to learn more about the stage of his cancer and what to expect with the fight ahead. On April 23, he underwent an invasive surgery to remove and assess the tumor in his intestine so we can understand what stage of cancer he is in. Doctors say he will need at least 10 days to recover. We are just at the beginning but will be there for him every step of the way.
All said, Rob has already experienced challenges with health insurance—runarounds, delays, and high out-of-pocket medical expenses. As Rob’s friends, we want him to focus on staying strong, fighting, and healing, not worrying about medical debt. Rob has been the truest friend, and we want to care for him like he has always done for us. He is who you call in the middle of the night when your car breaks down, an emergency erupts at work, or you are having the worst day and you need a friend who won’t judge you but make you laugh instead. Rob is loyal, forgiving, and brings uncensored humor and freakish joy to all our lives.
Cancer is a long journey. Please help Rob in his fight by donating any amount you can. Every donation will be used for Rob’s out-of-pocket and uncovered medical expenses, lost time during recovery, and care while he heals. Thank you for coming together and rallying for our friend Rob.
