Rob Holmes is fighting a continual battle that has proven to be much more substantial than anticipated by him, his family and even his doctors. Even through his win over cancer and his shoulder surgery, we thought he was tough, but this new issue that has required 4, yes, 4 surgeries in the last 30 days, with one more major surgery looming three months down the road, he has astounded his family, friends and physicians with his determination to get home to his family.
While Rob continues to push on and fight the good fight for his family, he finds himself now faced with a battle no one expected. He's home with a huge gaping softball size hole in his abdomen which will remain open for the three months as physical healing around the incisions is required before the next surgery can be completed.
As it would do to most in this circumstance, his family is devastated with the news that he may not return to work for four plus months due to the healing that must occur. That's 27 days in the hospital, weeks at home recovering, surgery then months of recovery again. The hospital bills are reaching ridiculous proportions and insurance is running out, so it's time for his friends, family, co-workers, and even cancer survivors to add some relief to a man who works so hard and helps so many. He needs support in fighting this battle, and I hope you can find it in your hearts to not only help him, but also Melissa, Drew and Dylan so they may find some peace in these terrible times.
