River Lee Miller is a happy, active, and bright 6 year old girl. She loves being in Kindergarten and playing soccer. Everything changed for River Lee on December 26th, 2018. This seemingly healthy little girl had a moderate brain bleed and slipped into a coma for almost 2 weeks. The doctors discovered that she has AVM (arteriovenous malformation), which means she had a tangle of blood vessels in her brain. Brain AVMs occur in less than 1 percent of the general population. Doctors don't know why people develop AVMs, but most who are diagnosed are born with it and have very few recognizable symptoms. Thankfully, her doctors were able to completely surgically remove the mass of knotted veins. She has since regained consciousness and is making miraculous strides. River Lee is extremely resilient and is working hard everyday to return to a normal life. She spent about a month at the Brooks Rehab Center in Jacksonville, FL. She is currently back home with her family and friends continuing her therapy. River Lee will still have a long road to recovery once she returns. Please help support River Lee and her family in their time of need.
