1/16/2025 UPDATE:
Ricky's awake!
Yesterday, Kelli brought photos of family and loved ones to place by Ricky's bedside, filling the room with familiar faces and love. Ricky had been showing positive progress—the care team successfully removed his drain tube, and began slowly easing him off sedation. While he hadn’t yet opened his eyes during Kelli’s visit, there was a palpable sense of hope.
And then… THIS MORNING happened.
When Kelli arrived, the nurse greeted her with a surprise: Ricky was off the ventilator, awake, and looking right at her! He recognized her immediately and said, "Hi, Kelli." Tears, joy, disbelief—it all came rushing in. Kelli made a few quick calls so Ricky could hear the voices of loved ones, and although his voice was left horse and tender from the ventilator - he kept repeating one thing: “Thank you.”
The nurses couldn’t help but comment on how polite he is, a testament to the gentle spirit we all know and love. While his body and nervous system continue their healing journey after such a traumatic head injury, this moment feels nothing short of a miracle.
To everyone who has offered prayers, support, and love—thank you. Ricky is truly one of the lucky ones, and we are endlessly grateful to see him coming back to us. This is the power of love, resilience, and the collective strength of hope.
Ricky, you’ve got this!
Help Ricky Weinsteiger Fight for His Life
Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,
On the evening of Tuesday, January 7th, our beloved Ricky Weinsteiger was struck by a motorist traveling at 40 mph while walking home from the gym in York, PA. This tragic accident has left Ricky in the ICU, fighting for his life.
Ricky is so much more than a brother, son, or friend—he’s a beacon of warmth and kindness to everyone who knows him. With his sweet grin, heartfelt hugs, and genuine care for others, Ricky has always gone above and beyond to help people live healthier, more meaningful lives. Now, he needs our help in return.
Ricky suffered severe head injuries and faces a long, challenging road to recovery. As his family, we’re doing everything we can to support him.
How You Can Support Ricky:
Donate: Contributions, big or small, will help cover medical bills, rehabilitation therapy, and daily living costs while Ricky recovers.
Share: Spreading the word can make a huge difference in reaching more people who might want to help.
Send Your Love: Prayers, positive thoughts, and kind messages mean so much to Ricky and our family during this time.
Your generosity will allow Ricky to focus fully on healing and give our family the strength to stand by him every step of the way.
We also want to kindly ask for patience as Ricky recovers. For now, we are not able to accept visitors, as his healing brain is very sensitive to stimulation. We will keep you updated as his condition improves and visits become possible.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being part of Ricky’s support system. Your kindness and compassion mean everything to us.
With love and gratitude,
Ricky’s Family
