Rally for Ricky: Battling Asthma and More

Hi friends and family! I can’t even believe I am here again typing this, but we are asking for your kindness and support once again. After a house fire in October and a 6-day hospital stay at the end of October, fast forward to today, we are at the University of Maryland MICU unit and have been here since 2/23/25. Ricky suffers from severe asthma and after getting the flu, he was flown here by helicopter from Queenstown ER. It is unknown when we will be released from the hospital, and also he cannot return to work right away after his release. Ricky has a long road ahead of him. While in the hospital, he also got pneumonia and a staph infection in his bloodstream. He has a heart condition which may lead to an outpatient procedure once we leave the hospital. The one thing we were hanging onto is that he has Aflac, but we found out today it’s only an accident plan and hospital stays for illnesses aren’t covered. I am working on getting insurance for Ricky, but as of now, he has zero coverage. Thank you, friends and family, for everything you have done to help my family and please, if nothing else, continue to pray for a full recovery and for us to get to go home soon
