Rally for Rick’s Recovery

Hello everybody! My name is Cassie, I am Rick’s niece. This GoFundMe is to support Rick as he takes on the battle to fight his diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia.

As you all know, life has thrown Rick some real curveballs in the last several years. In 2014, he was diagnosed with stage 4 tonsil cancer. He went through intense treatment and was able to beat it into remission!

Unfortunately, about 9 years later, he was severely injured in a traumatic accident as a result of a slow heart rate causing him to pass out while driving in which he suffered a spinal compression fracture. He received a pace maker and two rods in his back. Being the strong human that he is, he has been working towards recovery and has been able to pick up some of his life once again.

Most recently, Rick retired from his job. He has had but a minute to enjoy his new retirement life when, on January 6th, 2025, he was diagnosed with secondary acute myeloid leukemia.

He is now in Ann Arbor receiving intense treatment. We’ve already received news that the treatment is showing results that indicate a positive outcome!! He will require a bone marrow transplant and has a long road to recovery ahead of him. Our prayers are fully with him that his body heals, and this cancer is once again beaten into remission.

It would be so wonderful if everyone could show Rick and Rhonda a bit of love and contribute to help relieve some his medical expenses and all the financial stressors that come along with this kind of hardship. My Uncle Rick is such a kind, hard-working person and always willing to give others a hand after all, he’s gone through with Rhonda by his side it’s time that he excepted a little help from others. If everyone who knows and loves Rhonda and Rick donated just a bit, the impact would be immense!
