Rally for Rhonda: Unexpected Health Crisis
Donation protected
Rhonda Jones Carkhuff is a loving mother of 5 children as well as 5 grandchildren. After a routine check up at her doctor’s, her white blood cell count was found to have skyrocketed to over 100,000. Thinking this was an inaccurate lab result , her doctor advised her to go to the hospital to seek further evaluation. Rhonda never felt any different so it seemed unlikely that this lab result could possibly mean anything other than a faulty reading. But after additional blood tests it was confirmed. On March 4th, just 3 days after a routine check-up, her world was turned upside down. She was diagnosed with Acute B-Cell leukemia. This form of leukemia is aggressive in nature and she was told that she needed to start inpatient chemotherapy as soon as possible. Local hospitals in the area were not equipped to treat her so she had to be transferred to a larger facility away from home.
If you have ever had the privilege of meeting Rhonda, then you know how special of a person she is. She is best described as having a heart of gold. She has always been the one to hold others up, carrying so much without ever asking for anything in return. Always protecting, always giving, always showing up for anyone in their time of need.
Treatment for acute b-cell leukemia requires extensive chemotherapy as well as lengthy hospital stays. As Rhonda and her family navigate this difficult time in her life, we ask for you to support her in her time of need.
These funds will be used for medical bills, transportation, debt incurred from medical bills and any other needs related to continued treatment. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make an impactful difference in Rhonda’s journey to recovery.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all for your love and support.
