Rally for Reliable Wheels

Hello there! Thank you for stopping by. I’ve started a GoFundMe to help my brother-in-law get a reliable vehicle. As some of you know, several months back, he and his family parted separate ways when they were given 30 days to get out of their home of 10+ years with no warning. He stayed at his mother’s place with the children (3 girls), and his wife Sarah and dog stayed with Bobby and me. Slowly, day by day, they managed to get under the same roof once more, and things started falling into place. He got himself a truck; it wasn’t the best of trucks, but it got him from A to B. However, it was leaking gas, and he was just buying enough time to get a decent job and hopefully then get something more reliable and much safer.

I was able to assist him with gaining a stable job at the Surgery Center, and he’s worked so hard to stay grounded and stable — and I’m incredibly proud of how far he’s come.

Right now though, he’s stuck.

Yesterday (5/22/2025), on his way home from work, his brakes went out on his truck, and he wrecked. Airbags deployed, and his truck is totaled. He thankfully is okay, but he has no way to get to the pharmacy for his meds, to buy groceries, or to even get to work. After all the hardships this family has endured, it’s taken everything from them, which means no savings, no loans — nothing that allows you to prepare for something like a vehicle breaking down. It makes living a stable, healthy life so much harder. I’m scared of what might happen next for him and his family.

He’s trying, but when your basic needs are out of reach, it’s easy to spiral. I want to help him stay on solid ground, and I’m asking for help because I can’t do it alone.

I want to lift some of the weight off Matt’s shoulders by helping him purchase a reliable used car. Our goal is to raise enough to cover the cost of a decent, reliable car, registration, insurance, and a few months of gas.
