This is Elizabeth, managing this GoFundMe on behalf of my mom, Rebecca Balogh Whelan.

My mom has the biggest heart of anyone I've ever met. Some of my own biggest strengths come directly from her. Even being raised by her, I am still amazed by her perspective on life and her willingness to help, support, and forgive others. If you know her, you know exactly what I mean. She has made a positive impact on so many people's lives, and now it is time that we give back. The community that she has built around her through her daycare families, neighbors, involvement in Niskayuna schools, family friends, and more is amazing to see.

My mom will be out of work for 6+ months while she undergoes chemo for Hodgkins Lymphoma. Being a small business owner, as wonderful as it is for our community, does not provide a lot of safety nets. Unfortunately, life does not stop when you're sick and the world keeps moving. So if you are able to contribute to this GoFundMe at any time over the next six months, it would be an incredible help.
