Paul was geocaching in Dallas with his youngest daughter. He was crossing the street in a crosswalk with the light, and a driver turning the corner struck him. He sustained injuries on the right side of his body: a laceration of the scalp, three fractures in his face, three fractured ribs, a punctured lung, a broken wrist, a broken hip, and a broken knee. His family is by his side in Dallas (from Houston) until he is healed enough to be discharged.
