Patrick’s Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 20th in Lexington. Visitation will begin at 12:30pm, followed by a short service at 2:30pm .
Patrick passed away peacefully with Rachel by his side last night at 12:30 am…on their 8th wedding anniversary. Rachel is immensely grateful for the support you all have shown. Please keep Rachel and Vivian in your thoughts in the weeks and months ahead.

We continue to welcome any and all donations even though we have surpassed the original goal. Anything not used for Patrick’s medical needs will go towards Vivian’s college fund. THANK YOU ALL!
In October 2022, Patrick was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer that has since spread to multiple other areas. Over the past two years, he has had repeated rounds of radiation, chemotherapy and infusion treatments. He has also undergone several surgeries. Most recently, the repair of a fracture in his spine caused by a cancerous tumor. Patrick continues the fight of his life, and has now been admitted to the ICU. Currently, the estimated length of his stay in the ICU is undetermined.
Anyone who knows us, knows our extended family is extremely tight knit, large, loud, and doesn’t go down without a fight. The same holds true for this situation, and we are tackling this as a family day by day together.
Along with their families, Patrick, Rachel, and Vivian are loved by so many friends, coworkers, and classmates.
Chef Patrick truly shows his talents and love of cooking by creating and preparing unforgettable meals for everyone he knows, both personally and professionally in the Lexington community at the famous Merrick Inn. Rachel is an ambitious career woman, outstanding mother, connoisseur of great wine, and has some of the best dance moves of anyone we know. Vivian has a heart of gold. She is smart, funny, compassionate, friendly, warm…and at just 6 years old, she’s not only a role model to her peers, but to all of us as well.
Let’s just say, to know the Jones Family is to love them.
Several people have asked how they can help during this unbelievably challenging time, so we thought this would be an easy way for those who love Patrick, Rachel, and Vivian to show support and rally around them.
The money raised by this GoFundMe initiative will go directly to the Jones Family. Our intent is to help ease any financial burdens that could come as a result of Patrick’s healthcare needs, including potential in-home health services or other unexpected expenses that may arise in the weeks and months ahead.
Anything not used for Patrick’s needs will go towards Vivian’s college fund.
