After three years of undiagnosed stomach issues and insufficient weight gain, Palin has been diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. In June 2021, the disease was at its worst, after multiple emergency room visits, she has finally been given a treatment plan. The recent treatment will involve chemotherapy in Spokane every two weeks for up to one year. The insurance company denied her first treatment and are waiting to see if the treatment will be out-of-pocket expenses. Every Crohn’s disease is different, so treatment and management may change. In order to keep Palin healthy during this treatment, she will need to supplement her diet with multiple vitamins, minerals, and a whole food diet, as advised by her medical team. At this time, she is still suffering with extreme digestive issues, intestinal inflammation, undernourishment, fatigue, loss of vision, anemia, and delayed physical development. The fatigue and undernourishment prevent her from getting out of bed on some days. The donations will help support Palin for medical treatment, at-home care, and supporting her to help her live the life of an average 12 year old under these circumstances.
