Hey everyone its Jesse by now most of you already know what we have been dealing with but for those of you who do not here is our current situation .. after a few days of our extremely healthy and hollistic 10 month old son Niko fighting off what appeared to be a normal stomach virus it has taken an un expected turn, we went to pediactrics and we were advised that the throwing up has caused dehydration and his eyes to look alittle off and we were sent to the Emergency room. After 2 days of IV fluids to get him back up to par his mental state had returned to just about normal but his eyes were still alittle off, about 5 minutes from being discharged and leaving he suffered from what appeared to be a 2 minute episode that to me appeared to be almost like a seisure where he lost control of his eyes and came out of it extremely exausted. The next day he had another similar less intense episode, we were then immediately rushed into a Cat Scan and then flown on an emergency helicopter to westchester medicals pediactric icu to have him further evaluated, apon arriving he had gone through numerous tests and what seems to be endless blood sampling, for about 2 days in the pediactric ICU ,his state didnt seem to change much . They performed cat scans , catscans with contras, MRI , EEG ,EKG and even a Lumbar Puncture (spinal tap) in hopes of finding out more , some test have came back negative and the MRI has shown us that he does have some sort of symetrical light spots on his brain which we have been informed could be something or nothing..as of yesterday he became extremely lethargic and lost the ability to control movement in his eyes and his head, after seeing a test result that he was deficient in b9 and with the symetrical spots on the cat scan in mind he was administered vitamins and steroids. its seems his mental state has improved abit and his eyes are still misaligned, currently we are waiting on many tests to try to figure out exactly what is causing this horrible condition ,Me and his Mother really havent been able to leave his side for more than a walk down the hall when grandma or grandpa come by and that is extremely difficult considering we have other children who arent allowed to visit because they are under 12 and this is a pediactric ICU.. honestly we his parents are extremely tired and exausted as is Niko , there is no doubt in my mind that Niko will get better because he is very strong, but theres no telling how long this healing process will take.. we are hoping very quickly but we all know these things may take time.. at this point Any help we can get to help with food, medical expenses, and things Niko might need when he comes home is greatly appreciated and if nothing else we are simply asking for your Prayers, all things are possible with God . thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and for all of your support in this difficult time in our lives , Love Jesse Cassandra and Niko
