On December 4th, while at home with his family decorating for Christmas, Nikolai suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. He is currently in ICU with an active brain bleed, which is causing his brain to swell, in turn, causing paralysis of the left side of his body. The doctors have placed him in a medically induced coma to try to allow his body and brain time to heal the bleeding and swelling. Due to the extent of damage done to his brain, we are unsure how long it is going to take him to, if ever, rehabilitate.

As you all know, Nikolai is a very private person, and it is difficult to ask for help in regular day-to-day situations, but this medical emergency has placed a significant financial burden on our family, and we are reaching out to ask for your support. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help alleviate the financial stress of keeping their household running for Heather (his wife) and Lukas (his son), his main support system. If anyone knows Nikolai, he is ALWAYS offering a helping hand, even without being asked.
