Rally for Nick Nylund: A Friend in Need

Donation protected
Update as of 8/6/2025: NICK IS HOME!

Nick is back home and beginning the journey of adjusting to a new normal. While he won’t be returning to work anytime soon, his days will be filled with outpatient rehab, where he’ll continue working hard to regain strength and independence.

We are incredibly proud of the effort, resilience, and positive attitude Nick has shown throughout this unexpected health challenge.

Today, he underwent another test, but doctors are still unsure what caused a stroke or aneurysm at just 41 years old. Despite the unanswered questions, Nick remains focused on healing, and we remain hopeful and grateful for each step forward.

We want to sincerely thank everyone who has comforted us, prayed for us, donated, and supported us through this incredibly difficult time. What we’ve been going through has felt like a nightmare—but the love and kindness from our friends, family, and community have made it just a little more bearable. Your support has meant more than words can express.

We’ll be closing Nick’s donation platform in the next couple of days, but we want you to know just how much your generosity has meant to him—and to all of us.

Nick has worked hard his entire life. He’s taken on overtime, extra jobs, side work, even roofing—whatever it took to support his family. Being able to take that burden off his shoulders, even temporarily, is giving him the time and space he needs to heal and focus fully on rehab.

Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts.

Hello everyone. My name is Callie and I am a friend of Nick and Maggie's and, with their permission, I have decided to start a go-fund me with hopes that we can all come together to support Nick as he has faced many recent set backs.

On May 18th Nick suffered a stroke and a brain aneurysm that ruptured. Since then he has been in the critical care unit and fighting pneumonia.

Just this last week, Nick was able to come off of life support and on (June 12th) he was able to take three steps! To some it may not seem like much, but for the severity of Nick's health, this is a huge milestone.

"He is young and strong and otherwise healthy so all are patiently waiting for him to get strong enough to start physical therapy.
Thank you for the family, friends and coworkers for helping us all through this difficult time. The nurses at Essentia are top notch and we are so grateful for that. We appreciate the thoughts and prayers and will keep people updated." (from Maggie)

Nick will not be able to return to work for quite some time. So this is where we step in to help. All funds raised will be will go towards Nick's medical bills and everyday expenses until he can get back to working full time.

Thank you for all of the support.

Now it's time to rally for Nick!
