A Call for Compassion: The Devastating Betrayal of Neil and Noel Perry.

To know Neil and Noel Perry is to know the very best of humanity. They are, without question, two of the kindest, most generous souls you could ever hope to meet, always the first to extend a hand, to offer comfort, to help anyone in need.

Now, in a cruel twist of fate, it is they who desperately need our help. A devastating blow has struck their family, shattering their dreams and leaving them with nothing but heartbreak.

Their journey began with hope. Seeking a fresh start, a new chapter for their family, they made the monumental decision to move from their beloved Bakersfield, California, to New Jersey.

Every possession, every memory, every tangible piece of their life was carefully packed into a colossal 5,000 square foot storage unit – a lifetime accumulated, spanning two homes combined.
With their life's savings invested in a new house in New Jersey, they envisioned a future, a home filled with laughter and love, once their precious belongings were safely transported.
But that future, that dream, was brutally stolen.

What unfolded next is a nightmare ripped from the darkest corners of human deceit. A moving company, and a lone, predatory driver, took complete, sickening advantage of Neil's family. They didn't just lose their possessions; they lost everything. Among the stolen treasures were the irreplaceable remains of cherished loved ones, family members whose physical presence may have gone, but whose memory was held sacred in those urns. The remains of beloved pets, family in every sense of the word, were snatched away. And in a wound that cuts deepest, Neil's father's remains are gone – a sacred trust, violated.

Neil, a gifted musician, a drummer whose rhythm is his lifeblood and his livelihood, now stands stripped bare. His entire drum kit, the very tools of his trade, his means of providing for his family, vanished.

Everything Neil and Noel owned, every photograph, every heirloom, every piece of clothing, every memory, was plundered. And with a chilling audacity that defies comprehension, the thief had the gall to demand an additional $10,000 ransom for the return of their own stolen lives.
This isn't just a tragic incident; it's a cold, calculated crime enabled by systemic loopholes. As many of us painfully know, there are far too few laws to truly protect families from these predatory moving companies. They operate in the shadows, dissolving one entity only to re-emerge under a new name, a new guise, perpetually evading justice, leaving a trail of shattered lives in their wake.
I have known Neil for nearly 30 years, and this is the only way I know how to fight for him, for Noel, for their family. This holiday season, let us rally around them. Let us give them a Christmas miracle, a New Year filled with hope instead of despair. Let us help Neil reclaim his livelihood, his music, his ability to provide. And let us, together, help furnish their empty house, transforming it from a hollow shell into the warm, loving home they so desperately deserve. Their kindness has touched so many; now, let ours touch them
